The first SUV ever to be produced by Ferrari is scheduled for a 2022 launch, and it now has a name: Purosangue, meaning purebreed. Whether the new models manages to retain the full magic of the Ferrari brand remains to be seen – ie, a premium interior and exquisite sound insulation. It will also likely get a hybrid powertrain.

In another sign that the times they are a’ changing, Ferrari has joined the list of automakers planning to get greener. The Italian automaker says 60% of its models will have hybrid powertrains by 2022. The reasons are two-fold: first, the company will have to meet emissions standards, and second, demand among its clientele for environmentally responsible models continues to grow.
