2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe

Two years after the arrival of the Cadillac ATS, a two-door version of the luxury compact sedan is on it's way. Unveiled at the Detroit auto show in January, the 2015 Cadillac ATS coupe will arrive at the end of this summer to take on the BMW 4 Series. The coupe version of the ATS is assembled on the same chassis as the sedan. However, nearly all of the body parts have changed, from the front to the trunk lid to the roof, doors and rear fenders. The coupe model also has a wider track and rides on it's own set of 18-inch wheels.

As for powertrains, customers can choose between a turbocharged 2.0-litre or a 3.6-litre V6. The first delivers 272 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque while running the 0 to 96 km/h race in 5.6 seconds. Meanwhile, the V6 offers 321 horses and 275 lb-ft of torque for an even more stunning level of performance. While the four-cylinder comes with a choice of manual or automatic six-speed transmission, the V6 is only available with the automatic. Both engine choices offer either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe has a multi-link MacPherson front suspension, while on the rear, it received the same five-link suspension that is found on the sedan. This is a first for Cadillac. The front brakes are from Brembo, and just like a BMW, the ATS has a nearly perfect weight distribution, which approaches 50/50. A magnetic suspension is optional, as is a rear limited slip differential.

Just like the ATS sedan, the coupe promises a richly decorated, well designed interior, which can compete with and possibly exceed that found in the BMW 4 Series. A Bose sound system comes as standard equipment on all models. On the eight-inch touch screen, a new version of Cadillac's CUE infotainment system now recites text messages that are received by your cell phone. 4G LTE connectivity will support seven devices, turning the ATS into a wireless access point. We don't yet know the price, but since the sedan starts at $37,500, we can only assume that the ATS coupe will start at a minimum of $40,000.
