Yes, believe it or not the #2015 Ford Mustang is already available... if you play the video game Need For Speed Rivals. Ford worked closely with Electronic Arts (EA) to provide all of the technical details of the new car. A few days after the real Mustang was unveiled to the public, the virtual version made it's debut in the game, so that all drivers can get behind the wheel and experience the new car long before it's street date. The Mustang appears in every edition of the famous game franchise since 2005's Need For Speed Most Wanted featuring a Ford Mustang Boss 302.
Mustang's "hero car" from the movie Need For Speed is also available. In addition, fans can drive the Shelby GT500 police car and have access to a Ford garage as a Racer hideout.
In the game, players can choose from five different designs to give thier Mustang a unique style. Four were selected from all design created byt the game's "Mustang Customizer." The Customizer is an app that is available on iPhone, iPad and Android, as well as Ford's website; which creates a unique Mustang with different decals and paint finishes offered. The fifth game design was created by founder and RTR Drift champion Vaughn Gitten Jr.
With over nine million cars sold over it's 50 years of continuous production, the Ford Mustang has had a significant impact on popular culture, including video games. In addition to Need For Speed, the Mustang has also appeared in hundreds of movies, TV shows and music.
