Have you come across the Chevrolet Sonic Dusk yet? If you have, you'll be interested to know that General Motors has just announced that it will be in showrooms in 2014. If you haven't, sit back now and read all about it.
The Las Vegas SEMA Show has become the place to see the most amazing concepts and outrageous custom cars imaginable. But amidst all the extravagance, you can still find production-intent cars if you know where to look. Take for example the Chevrolet Sonic Dusk. Unveiled at last year's SEMA Show as a concept car, we are now learning it is slated for production. Chris Perry, Vice President of Chevrolet marketing says: "The reaction to the Sonic Dusk concept last year was overwhelmingly positive and proved customers are interested in a more-refined subcompact. We're moving quickly to bring Sonic Dusk to Chevrolet showrooms." Available only in Sonic Dusk Ashen Grey, the car features a matt finish for front grille, door handles and rear lid trim and stainless steel window mouldings.
This aggressive, sophisticated, refined model comes with 18-inch pearl-nickel finish wheels and smoked windows. The cabin interior is decked out in black Alcantara leather with Mojave beige inserts and comes with Chevy's MyLink infotainment system, Bluetooth and a USB socket. The powerplant is a turbocharged 1.4-litre 4-cylinder block delivering 138 hp, coupled to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Note that only the 4-door sedan version offers the high-end package.
No word yet from Chevrolet on prices or precise launch date, but the American car maker will be showcasing the car once again at the next SEMA, which kicks off on October 30. Note that that this new finish will soon be available on other models too, including the Corvette, Camaro and Cruze.
